4 Reasons to Try NeuX for Pain Relief

Members and staff share how neuromuscular stimulation technology has changed their lives

Have an injury causing pain that won’t seem to let up? Visiting the chiropractor, taking ibuprofen, getting a steroid shot, or booking a massage appointment are typically top of mind for finding relief fast. But these members of The Fort Worth Club family tried something different – a technology used by professional athletes to address the source of pain and kickstart real recovery – and not just at a superficial level.

NeuX works by adhering electrode pads to areas of pain to deliver a combination of high-frequency alternating current (AC) and lower-frequency direct current (DC) for comfortable and effective stimulation. (Other muscle stimulators may use either AC or DC, but often not both.)

Here are four reasons to try NeuX to help stop ongoing pain once and for all.

1.NeuX sessions can address chronic pain from serious injuries

“Many years ago, I sustained an injury tearing muscles, tendons, and nerves in my neck and shoulder, through my ribcage and down my back,” says member Brenda M. “Over the years there has been scar tissue buildup and weakening of the muscles along with muscle spasms and constant pain. While therapy, chiropractic treatments, and massages, would give me some relief, the pain and tightness would quickly return.”

Brenda began a regimen of weekly NeuX treatments for about a month. After each treatment, she noticed the pain relief lasted longer and longer. “Now I can work-out without having muscle spasms and am able to gain strength through working out.”

2.A NeuX session may decrease need for pain relievers like Tylenol and ibuprofen

When member Kim M. decided to try a NeuX treatment for her shoulder pain, she was surprised at the results after just one session.

“It took away the pain enough where I didn’t have to take a Tylenol,” she says. “It also brought the pain level down from where it has been. I am excited to see how this service can continue to help my shoulder heal.”

3.NeuX sessions can address both old and new injuries

Through neuromuscular electrical stimulation, NeuX encourages muscle contractions, which can improve circulation and muscle strength in even the oldest of injuries.

“After dealing with an old rotator cuff flare-up, and progressing through a recent sports-related knee injury, NeuX provided me with the extra support I needed,” says member Donald K. “NeuX has been instrumental in streamlining my recovery process.”

4.NeuX sessions come with “mapping” assessment to pinpoint source of pain

Take the guesswork out of locating the exact source of pain with a NeuX mapping assessment, a process that identifies the specific location of nerve disfunction. A sponge-like pad is moved across the body to scan for “hot spots,” or locations where the nervous system is restricting movement – which could be different than where the actual pain is felt.

“I began to have foot pain that was so bad, I couldn’t walk,” says Ashli Davenport, Director of Performance + Longevity. “I got mapped and realized the root of the problem was higher up the chain. We were able to target the area with a NeuX treatment. I was able to walk normally again after just one session thanks to significantly reduced pain.”
